17 Aug Illuminate Book Launch Mumbai Teaser_Theory

Thursday, August 17th, Beauty for Freedom hosted a book launch for “Illuminate”. The project stemmed from a 3-week arts therapy intensive program with New Light, Kolkata featuring photography, fashion, painting, and mural-making workshops. Over 5,000 images were shot by the youth at the program which are now featured in the book.

The book launch served as a fundraiser along with an art auction and cocktail reception. 50% of the proceeds from book sales will go to New Light and 50% will go back into Beauty For Freedom’s art-therapy based programming.

The event hosted by supermodels and global BFF Ambassadors Smita Lasrado, Diva Dhawan and BFF Executive Director Monica Watkins was an incredible night celebrating freedom in support of survivors of human trafficking and at-risk youth from New Light, Kolkata. Music for the event was curated by DJ/Actor/Artist Rahul Chhabria and well-attended by some of Mumbai’s fashion industry influencers and artist community. Rescue Foundation Executive Director and Co-Founder Triveni Archarya was an honored guest speaker and guests feasted on an incredible tasting menu sponsored by Theory. Cocktail Hour was sponsored by Sula Wines.
