06 May Beauty for Freedom Supports Denim Day NYC 2017
Denim Day NYC and the Denim Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge were incredible learning experiences for our entire Beauty for Freedom team Wed. April 26th and we are grateful to all of the advocates, activists, non-profits, volunteers, supporters and public officials who braved the rain to take a stand against sexual assault and domestic violence! Please visit denimday.nyc to support this coalition and continue to support these amazing organizations throughout the year! Public officials and advocates in attendance and speaking at the press conference at Foley Square included Councilwoman Laurie Cumbo, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, BFF Executive Director Monica Watkins, NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer, Deputy Brooklyn Borough President Diana Reyna, Brooklyn YWCA Executive Director Martha Kamber and survivor/advocate/filmmaker Anna Leigh Cooper.
